Hugh Warwick became curate at Rotherfield Peppard in October 2000. He was ordained priest on 30 September 2001.

Hugh Warwick and his family arrived in Peppard in 1949, and he, his brother and sister grew up and went to school in the area. He studied music, and after trying for a very short while, joined the BBC where he worked for much of the time as a radio music producer until he retired in the mid 1990's. Although he lived in London for a while, when he met and married Auriel, who comes from New Zealand, they needed to make a base which was convenient to her work as Oxfordshire County Music Service's music therapist, and his need to commute to London. So they returned to the Peppard area. Hugh was ordained as a deacon in October 2000 by the Bishop of Oxford.
